(3) Test items, test method and criteria
The requirements in Table 3.17.2 are, in principle, to be considered as the criteria for the type
tests of flexible hose assembly of metallic materials. A test method other than those given in the following table may be employed by this Society if deemed appropriate of its equivalency.

This test is to be applied on the piping systems where pressure pulses are expected to occur in service. | During test period, no rup- turing, leaking are permitted. |
Bending Fatigue Test | (1) U bend test ① Bend radius : see ISO 10380 Table 2. ② Test pressure : design pressure. ③ Test medium : water. ④ Test cycle : 5 cycles/min. to 30 cycles/min. for 5 min. | A localized reduction of the hose radius is not to be more than 50 % during the test. During test period, no rup- turing, leaking are permitted. |

1704. Markings
Type approved flexible metal hose assemblies are to be permanently marked by the manufacturer with the following details
(1) Hose manufacturer’s name or trademark.
(2) Date of manufacture (month/year).
(3) Designation type reference.
(4) Nominal diameter, Pressure rating, Temperature rating.

1705. Product Inspection after type approval
Flexible hose assembly of metallic or non-metallic materials used for Class I and II pipe fittings is subjected to a hydrostatic test at a pressure 1.5 times of the design pressure.
