Section 7 Intact Stability


701. Intact Stability


1. The final intact inclination of the Yacht from the horizontal due to crowding of persons is not to exceed 10 degrees in any direction under any permitted cases of loading and uncontrolled move- ment of persons as may occur.


2. Where consideration of the effects of weight of persons is required in this chapter, the following assumption are to be made :

(1) 4 persons per square meter.

(2) a mass of 75 kilograms is to be assumed per person

(3) the hight of the center of gravity for person should be assumed equal to:

(a) 1.0 m above deck level for person standing upright

(b) 0.30 m above the seat in respect of seated persons

(4) in addition, the weight and distribution of the luggage is to be assumed as realistic as possible.

(5) when evaluating relevant criteria in which passenger heeling moments is included, persons are to

be considered as distributed to produce the most unfavourable heeling moment.
