Section 1 General
101. General
1. The requirements of this Chapter is applied in addition to Pt 6 of Rules for the Classification of Steel Ships, to the construction and use of surveillance, control and communications equipment in submersibles as well as to that of wireless, navigating and locating equipment in submersibles built under the survey where appropriate. In submersibles with a diver's lockout, automation, con- trol, monitoring and communications equipment in the area of the diver's lockout is also required to comply with the provisions of Pt 9, Ch 7 of Rules for the Classification of Steel Ships.
2. The documents to be submitted to the Society for approval are listed in Ch 1, Sec 2.
3. The necessary tests and markings are specified in Ch 1, Sec 3 and Sec 4.
