Section 1 General


101. Application


1. This Guidance is to be applied to the hull breglass reinforced plastics (FRP) and other


structure, materials


constructed in steel, aluminium alloy or fi- which are approved by this Society of the

large yachts of 24 m or over in length, defined in 104. 1 (2). Guidance for Recreational Crafts

to be applied to the yachts below 24 m in length.


2. Where deemed appropriate by the Society, ISO, KS or internationally recognized standards consid- ered as equivalent may be applied for the items which are not specified in the Guidance. Fire pro- tection and fire extinction are to be complied with the requirements of Flag Administration in addi- tion to the Guidance.


3. The Society may require to apply the governmental regulations for items not specified in this Guidance.


 

4. Where the yachts have undergone survey according to relevant governmental regulation and al- lowed to operate within costal area, the application of this Guidance may be dispensed with.
